I am Brazilian born, daughter of an American journalist and professor and a Brazilian mother. I grew up in a small town in upper state New York and moved back to Brazil in my teens.  I married early to a Welshman and moved to Britain. I have lived in several countries since.

I love travelling and encountering new people, cultures and places. I painted as a teenager but stopped whilst I married, had children and then became a lawyer. I started painting again after I broke my right shoulder a few years ago.   I find the simplest things in life are always the most enjoyable.  Brazil, like the States and many other countries, is an enormous country that is influenced not only by its raw and natural beauty but also by the variety of different people in it which comes together to form its own unique cultures.

In Brazil there is a word “saudades” which means the melancholy feeling of missing someone or some place, I try to express my “saudades” of the people and places I have encountered throughout my life through my paintings
.
